Recorded in the early morning of May 24th, 2025, just as the fourth hour of the day began. The soundscape opens in dim light, with the calls of cuckoos, corncrakes, and sedge warblers dominating the acoustic scene. As the recording progresses, the voices of the corncrakes gradually fade into the background, overtaken by the chorus of awakened songbirds. Soft gurgles rise from the river, and from time to time, a toad adds its own commentary. The Raudna River flows through Soomaa National Parkāan oasis of silence in the heart of inland Estonia.
